Find flooring, underlays and carpets for your awning and wind out canopy

A carpet for your awning or a carpet for your wind out canopy provides a comfortable surface in your living area. At Isabella, you will also find protective underlays, solid flooring, insulating comfort underlays and underfloor heating for your awning. With Isabella Flooring Concept, you can combine the different layers to create a flooring solution that suits the way you camp – whether you move between campsites frequently, stay for a whole season or are a permanent camper.

Flooring and carpets for your awning – from underlay to carpet

An awning flooring solution can be built up from several layers, each with its own function. The lower layers protect against mud and moisture from the ground, while solid flooring and comfort underlays can provide additional stability, insulation and comfort. The flooring solution is finished with a carpet on top. You do not need to use every layer. The best combination depends, among other things, on how long your awning remains pitched and how much comfort and stability you want.

Below, you can see examples of flooring solutions for different types of camping and learn more about the purpose of each layer.

Isabella Flooring Concept – which layers should you choose?

Isabella Flooring Concept helps you choose flooring for your awning based on the way you camp. The layers below are shown in order from the ground upwards.

Type of campingRecommened flooring solution
Touring campingGroundCover → GroundSheet → Isabella Carpet
Seasonal campingGroundCover → GroundSheet → ComfortCarpet → Isabella Carpet
Permanent campingGroundCover → IsaFloor → GroundSheet → ComfortCarpet → Isabella Carpet

Do you move between campsites frequently? A simple flooring solution with GroundCover, GroundSheet and carpet provides protection against mud and ground moisture as well as a comfortable surface inside the awning.

Does your awning stay pitched for the whole season? Add ComfortCarpet for extra insulation against cold from the ground and a softer surface beneath the carpet.

Are you a permanent camper? IsaFloor can be added as a solid and level base beneath the other layers.

The flooring solution can be adapted to your needs. You therefore do not need to use every layer in Isabella Flooring Concept.

How much flooring and underlay do you need for your awning?

GroundCover – protection at the bottom of the flooring solution

GroundCover is the bottom layer of the flooring solution. It is placed directly on the ground and protects the awning mudflap and draught skirt from mud and splashes of dirt. It also makes cleaning easier when it is time to pack away the awning.

IsaFloor – solid and stable flooring for your awning

IsaFloor creates a solid and level base inside the awning. It is particularly suitable for permanent campers who want a more stable floor and an even surface beneath the other layers. In the complete flooring solution, IsaFloor is placed on top of GroundCover.

GroundSheet – tarpaulin against moisture from the ground

GroundSheet is a tarpaulin that acts as a moisture barrier between the ground or solid floor and the upper layers of the flooring solution. While GroundCover protects the awning mudflap and draught skirt from mud and splashes of dirt, GroundSheet helps keep ground moisture away from the living area. If you use IsaFloor, GroundSheet is placed on top of the solid floor.

ComfortCarpet – extra insulation and comfort

ComfortCarpet is a soft, insulating comfort underlay that is placed between GroundSheet and Isabella Carpet. ComfortCarpet provides additional insulation against cold from the ground and makes the floor more comfortable to walk and spend time on. It is particularly suitable when the awning remains pitched for longer periods.

Isabella Floor Heating – underfloor heating for your awning

Isabella Floor Heating provides extra warmth in the awning through a heating cable mounted in aluminium plates. The plates help distribute the heat, and the system must be installed on a solid, stable surface. The underfloor heating can be placed in selected areas of the awning, for example around the dining table, and works as a supplement to the awning heating. Isabella Carpet is recommended as the finishing layer. Isabella Floor Heating is an optional addition to the flooring solution and is therefore not shown as a fixed layer in the Isabella Flooring Concept examples.

Isabella Carpet – carpet for awnings and carpets for wind out canopies

Isabella Carpet is a hard-wearing carpet for your awning and forms the top layer of the flooring solution. It provides a comfortable surface, is easy to clean and can be cut to size without fraying.

If you are looking for a carpet for the area beneath your wind out canopy, you can choose between two types:

  • Edged carpet: Made from the same material as Isabella Carpet, finished with edging and with peg holes in the corners. Available in a depth of 250 cm.
  • Canopy carpet: Made from polypropylene with a reversible design in warm grey and warm beige. Available in depths of both 150 and 250 cm.
