Hermine was the name of a tropical storm heading towards the coast of the southern states.
After having already a lot of rain and wind and the storm was reaching already hurricane category 1 we decided to drive a little back inland again as camping is not a good idea then.
But after 48 hrs everything was over and we were on our way to Charleston.
The landscape changed slowly from mountains to swamp forests. And finally we saw the beautiful oaks with the white hair hanging in the branches. Charleston was a charming old city with nice old houses. And the cool thing was that my cousin was visiting a friend there so that we could meet him again ;)
Heading south another Southern Belle was waiting, named Savannah. Walking through the beautiful old town and all the small parks makes you feel like your are in the 18th century.
Soon we had to leave as our next destination was a little more south. You guess already, and if not here is a little tip, it is famous for orange juice and also named the Sunshine State...
