Driving a long way through the well known forests the landscape slowly changed to huge fields and farmland.
Our next stop was Edmonton. After being so long in the wild we were looking forward to do normal things, and so we spent my birthday visiting the biggest shopping mall in North America (including a sea lion show), having lunch at our favorite Chinese and going to the Cinema ;)
In the evening we saw an IKEA, which we visited the next day. It is funny how normal things getting attractive if you haven't had them for a long time.
Leaving Edmonton we were ready for Canada's famous National Parks Jasper and Banff and they shouldn't disappoint us.
The lakes were just fantastic blue, the rivers clear and that all surrounded by the Rocky Mountains, spectacular canyons waterfalls and animals just next to the road. And we also had to add another road to our favourite list: the Icefields Parkway. White and light blue glacier sitting on the ridge of the mountains or coming down a valley, sparkling in the sunlight was just beautiful to see.
After a couple of weeks it was finally time to say good-bye to Canada and entering the States again. In Montana, the big sky country we found a great camp ground right at the gateway to one of our highlights, the Yellowstone National Park.
