This city we were really exited about - but then we didn't know that it will remind us mostly not about the millions of light, the shows or casinos - but heat. Driving through the desert with 50 degrees in our car we knew already, that Vegas will be hot. But even for the inhabitants it was everything than normal. And over the radio they spoke out an excessive heat warning - over 44 degrees in the shade. At daytime it was so hot that we couldn't be in our Camp-let, even at the campgrounds pool it was too hot. But we knew places to flew - in the hundreds of air conditioned casinos and hotels.
And so we visited in one day Venice, Paris and New York. And even better my cousin Christian and his girlfriend Viktoria. It was really great to see family after 17 month again. We spent some time together and visited the Stratosphere Tower, but way to soon we had to move on.
After a long day driving through the desert we were so lucky when we escaped the hottest place we have been and to see the ocean again.
Driving along the beautiful coast of California we reached the next big city L.A. Of course we visited the Walk of Fame, Hollywood and Beverly Hills. In Santa Monica and Malibu we were surprised how cold it was, but we enjoyed it there as the beaches were wide and not crowded.
Coming from the rich and famous our next goal was the way itself - see you next week on Highway No 1.
