Week 35 Misahualli, El Oriente und Quito

Coming from already green areas we where now heading to the Amazon rainforest of Ecuador called El Oriente.

And it was really great! We found a nice campground at a hotel next to a big river.

First day we walked to a beautiful waterfall with two nice ladies from Britain we met in the hotel. All the way we walked through the jungle, following a river and saw more butterflies then ever before. At the end we had to climb over some rocks and had a refreshing shower under the waterfall ;)

Coming back to town we met some cute little friends who loves cookies, which they got from tourists.

Driving north through deep forest and high mountains we reached the Termas Papallacta, with really hot water, which of course we couldn't skip.

Then it was time for Ecuador' s capital city. Quito has a lot of old colonial buildings and from la Virgen de El Panecillo you have a fantastic view over the city!
