New week and we were more than ready for a new country. But before we had to pass the Andes on over 4700 m. For our Benz with the camp-let a challenge.
But slowly we made it. And it was great frozen lagoons, snow and wind that will blow the car doors away if you don't hold them. Not a place for life. Crossing the border to Argentina the landscape changed again to great canyons with coloured mountains from yellow over red and blue to green. And from a panoramic street over the clouds to suddenly green valleys. After eighth hours and three passes over 4300 m we finally reached San Salvador de Jujuy. There we found a great place to camp at the car park from the termas de Reyes where you have a great view at the mountains around and in the morning a hot swimming pool. But what us surprised this week was the beautiful panoramic road from San Salvador de Jujuy to Salta. Coming from desert in only a few hundred km to a rainforest. Really great to pass four climate zones in two days. And in the nice city Salta we met a couple, which saw us at the border and invited us for a full tank ;)
A funny picture waited then for us at the next border to Bolivia. An endless line of people with trolleys carrying all kind of stuff you can imagine from Argentina to Bolivia - like ants - and at the end empty trucks leaving and reloading it 200m away on the other side of the border.
