Yellowstone - the first National Park and a very special one.
It is really like an Nature Adventure Park, as it has it all from geysers, mud volcanos, hot springs, rivers, meadows, huge lakes and of course a lot of animals.
From our base we went several days in the park to discover all the sights as it is really big, when on one day we suddenly got stucked in an one hour traffic jam in the middle of a wide meadow. But this time it was not a tourist stopping in middle of the road because he saw a deer in a bush. The reason was a family crossing the street, but of course not people it was a bison family. It was astonishing and frightening at the same time when they were slowly walking in front of our Benz. And this family was not the only, in the whole valley bisons were walking in their speed on the road followed by a 50 seater bus, or often stopping and just looking at us.
But they were not the only ones who made the visitors happy, a deer family were eating and sleeping directly on a small traffic island in the middle of the village. Because the grass got watered and was therefore nowhere so green as there ;)
In Yellowstone we saw not only colorful boiling ponds, and water fountains but after a lot of black bears, finally our first Grizzlie.
Now that we have seen the most southern point, the West coast and Amerika's most northern state Alaska, it is time to go east.
See you next week crossing the Grand Prairie at the big lakes and Capone' s city Chicago.
